Using Microsoft Planner to Track Tasks in your Team Channel

Assign and track tasks in a Teams Channel.


A channel is primarily used for messaging and file sharing. However, you can add applications to a channel to enhance collaboration! One such application is Microsoft Planner.


With a shared plan in the Planner app you can;

- Organise tasks by subject matter using Buckets

- Assign tasks to Team members

- Use Labels to categorise tasks

- Highlight the importance as Urgent, Important, Medium or Low

- Group tasks by owner, priority, progress and more

- Get instant insights with the 'Charts' view


You can add Planner to your Channel by clicking the + icon at the top.

Then select the Planner app.
