How to Protect Sheets and Ranges in Google Sheets

You can protect Sheets and Ranges in Google Sheets, where only you can access them or you can give access to specific people.


Step 1 - Click the Data drop-down and select 'Protect Sheets & Ranges' or select a range and right-click to select 'Protect range'.

Step 2 - Select which range or sheet you would like to protect and add a description.

Step 3 - Click 'set permissions' and decide if you want it to show a warning message or stop access completely. Add the users you would like to allow access or select 'only you'.

Step 4 - Click 'Done' and now your range is protected.
